Languages are, par excellence, the direct channels of human communication and through which we get to know each other in terms of culture, identity, worldview, etc.
These languages are perfectly expressed in literature that is considered the best manifestation of a language in general. We use literary texts in ELE / LE classrooms as a means and tool to bring cultures and civilizations closer together.
We will present the results of the reading of the literary text "El cantar de Mío Cid" in the classrooms, as well as the cultural aspects that the text offers. We will talk about the learning process that the students received and their influence represented in a trip to Burgos made by the students to get to know the city and its most famous hero of all time.
We have taken advantage of the endless number of translations of this work into Arabic to bring the points of view between both languages and their cultures closer together and take advantage of the fact of being able to use the mother tongue in understanding the literary text, which would help the Egyptian student to improve their command of the Spanish language.
Of the skills that we will highlight will be reading because of its importance in the acquisition of knowledge, and because of its work in knowing a large part of the culture in general.
