يهدف البحث إلى التعرف على الملاءمة الوظيفية للمسکن وعلاقتها بدافعية ربة الأسرة نحو إنجاز مسئولياتها المنزلية، وقد أعدت واستخدمت الباحثتان استبيان الملاءمة الوظيفية للمسکن، ومقياس دافعية ربة الأسرة نحو إنجاز مسئولياتها المنزلية، ودليل لتقدير الوضع الاجتماعي والاقتصادي للأسرة المصرية، وتم تطبيقها على عينة الدراسة المکونة من (202) ربة أسرة من مستويات اجتماعية واقتصادية مختلفة من محافظة الدقهلية (ريف، حضر)، وقد أسفرت النتائج عن الآتي: -   وجود علاقة ارتباطية موجبة بين الملاءمة الوظيفية للمسکن ککل وبين دافعية ربة الأسرة نحو إنجاز مسئولياتها المنزلية ککل وأبعادها (الإتقان، إدراک الوقت، الابتکارية، الخبرة)، بينما لم يتبين وجود علاقة ارتباطية بين بُعد (تحمل المسئولية، الملاءمة الوظيفية للمسکن ککل) وأيضًا بين (بُعد الخبرة وبُعد الملاءمة الصحية). -   توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في الملاءمة الوظيفية للمسکن تبعًا للمستويات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية المختلفة للأسرة لصالح المستوى الأعلى. -   توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في دافعية ربة الأسرة بأبعادها المختلفة نحو إنجاز مسئولياتها المنزلية تبعًا لاختلاف المستوى الاجتماعي والاقتصادي للأسرة لصالح المستوى الأعلى، بينما لم يتبين وجود فروق بين ربات الأسر ذات المستوى الاجتماعي والاقتصادي (المنخفض، المتوسط) في دافعياتهن للإنجاز. -   توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في الملاءمة الوظيفية للمسکن باختلاف منطقة السکن (ريف، حضر) لصالح المساکن الحضرية. -   توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين ربات الأسر الحضريات والريفيات في دافعياتهن للإنجاز لصالح ربات الأسر الحضريات. -       توجد علاقة ارتباطية ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متغيرات الدراسة (سن ربة الأسرة، مستوى تعليم رب وربة الأسرة، عمل ربة الأسرة، حجم الأسرة، متوسط الدخل، التزاحم الحجري، التزاحم النومي، مساحة المسکن، مکان السکن) وبين کل من الملاءمة الوظيفية للمسکن، ودافعية ربة الأسرة نحو إنجاز مسئولياتها المنزلية.   The research aims to recognize the functional appropriateness of the house and its relation with the housewife's motivation to achieve the house works. Both female researchers prepared and used the questionnaire of the functional appropriateness of the house, the measure of the housewife's motivation to achieve the house works and evidence to rate the socio-economic status of the Egyptian family. It is applied on a sample consisting of (202) housewives with various socio-economic classes in Al Daqahleya Governorate (rural, urban). The conclusions show the following: There is a positive interrelation between the functional appropriateness of the house and the housewife's motivation to achieve the house works with its dimensions (the perfectness, the importance of time, the innovation, the experience). But, there is no interrelation between (taking responsibility and the functional appropriateness of the house) and between (the experience and the healthy appropriateness). There are statistically significant differences concerning the functional appropriateness of the house according to the different socio- economic status for the upper level.  There are statistically significant differences regarding the housewife's motivation with its various dimensions to achieve the house works according to the different socio- economic status of the family for the upper level. But, there are no differences between the housewives with (low and moderate) socio- economic level in terms of their motivation for the achievement.  There are statistically significant differences concerning the functional appropriateness of the house according to the difference of the residential areas (rural and urban) for the urban areas. There are statistically significant differences between the rural and urban housewives concerning their motivation for the achievement for the urban housewives. There is a statistically significant interrelation among the study variables (the housewife's age, the educational level the male and female householder, the housewife's job, the family size, the average income, the number of family members in the house, the number of the family members in the bedroom, the area of the house, the location of the house) and between the functional appropriateness of the house and the housewife's motivation to achieve the house works.
