Abstract

Background : Females of all ages, races, and ethnicities are at risk for breast and cervical cancer. These forms of cancer have remained major public health issues throughout the whole world.The aim of the study: was to evaluate the effect of a health educationprogram on prevention ofbreast and cervical cancerbased on the health belief model among female employees at medicalcampus.Subjects and Method: This study was a quasi-experimental design and it is carried out at the faculties of the medical campus in Tanta university. The total studied sample was 65 women. Tools of the study: two tools were used for data collection; tool I: Structured interview schedule consisted of three parts. Tool II: Beliefs of women regarding breast and cervical cancer prevention based on health belief model (HBM)Results: Total knowledge and belief scores were significantly improved from preprogram and three months after program application for the studied women. Conclusion: The preventive program based on the health belief model was effective and improved the studied women's knowledge and beliefs regarding breast and cervical cancer. Recommendation: Breast and cervical cancer education services should be offered to all women of different ages and in all areas.
