Abstract

Acute Kidney Injury is considered as a life threatening condition that affects critically ill patients. It is associated with high morbidity and mortality rate.. There was a significant difference between control and study patients in relation to renal recovery, referred to nephrologists, Patients who received RRT and hospital mortality with P= 0.004. More than half (53.3%) of the study group had normal urine output ≥0.5 mL/kg per hour for >6 hours after one week compared to low percentage of patients (6.7%) in control group. There was a significant difference between control and study sample to length of hospital stay and status on discharge after one week with p= (0.000 and 0.015) respectively.
