Abstract

In recent times, Research misconduct is one of the most important issues
in the scientific arena. Hence, the current study tried to shed light on this
phenomenon and the extent of its spread in the Arab world, through the Arab
Retracted articles. We found 416 scholarly publications retracted. Although they
account for 0.027% of all articles published,
The rate of retraction is rising. The most common reason to retract was
Plagiarism (25%). Retractions due to Redundant Publication account for the
second largest (23%). Retractions in the medical literature were highest (29%).
The largest proportion of Retractions was issued by the publishers & Editors
(68%).
