Abstract

The main objectives of the study were: to identify the practices followed by the farmers in the production and marketing of cotton, to identify the causes of the reluctance of some cotton farmers, to identify problems facing cotton growers and their suggestions to encourage the expansion of the cultivation of this crop in the future. This study was conducted in Behaira Governorate as one of the biggest Governorates in the area of cultivating cotton. Three Districts were selected and three villages, out of each Districts were selected Data were collected from nine selected villages of Behaira Governorate by using the method of focus group discussion at the end of season November and December, 2010.
