FAMILY COHESION IN AN EGYPTIAN VILLAGE AND ITS RELATIONSHIP TO SOME DEVELOPMENTAL BEHAVIORS

Abstract

this research aims at identifying the level of the family cohesion as a result of its four components (a) Marital participation, (b) Adequacy of income . (c)The harmony and marital adjustment, (d ) The religious of commitment of the couple And to identify the most important of these dimensions related to and identified for such cohesion, and its relationship to some 0f developmental behaviors in the community, The research data were collected from Beheira Governorate, the center of Abou Hummus, kom Elkanater village and pulled out a systematic random sample of( 118) families, A questionnaire has been designed to collect personal data. Frequencies, percentages, means, simple, correlation coefficient and multiple regression. The results revealed that:1. 23.73%, 46.61%, 29% of respondents were located in low, medium and high levels respectively, regarding family cohesion. 2. The results showed that the high level of family cohesion due to the height of each of its components: Marital participation (74.58%), and the adequacy of income (55.94%), and emotional compatibility marital level (35.59%), and the level of religious commitment of the couple (43.22%). 3. Dimensional were composed of family cohesion are respectively: the emotional marital adjustment (39.4%), and marital participation (24.8%), and the couple's religious commitment (9.8%) and finally the adequacy of income (8.9%). These variables explain (82.9%) of the variation in the level of family cohesion. 4. The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between each of the family cohesion and some developmental behaviors studied, respectively: participation developmental behavior and the behavior of selfsufficiency, and environmental behavior. While there are no relationship between the family and cohesion between political behavior .
