THE ECONOMICAL ANALYSIS OF PER CAPITA CONSUMPTION EXPENDITURE IN RURAL AND URBAN EGYPT

Abstract

The research aims to study and analyze the changes in the pattern of consumer spending and food in Egyptian rural and urban aeries. As well as the evolution of the average daily total calories per capita ,whish estimates at about 4042 calories during the first period (2000-2004), and the increased to reach about 4301 calories during the second period (2005-2009), while decreased to reach approximately 4039 calories during the third period (2010-2013), also the average daily protein per capita estimated at 121 grams during the first period (2000-2004), and declining to about 119 grams during the second period (2005-2009), while decreasing to about 110 grams during the third period (2010 -2013). As The daily fat per capita estimated as about 70 grams during the first period (2000- 2004), and increased up to about 76 grams during the second period (2005-2009), and remained a fixed amount of about 76 grams during the third period (2010-2013). To study of the relative importance of spender on different food groups in Egyptian rural and urban and attended to see the effect of family size on spent on these groups during the year 2012/2013,We divided the age groups under study into three sections, the first of (1-4) per person, and the second (5-7) individual, and the third of eight members, whish shown that the average of spending on food and drink per capita is reduced with increasing family size, by about 8659 pounds in the smaller family size (1-4), and fall to about 2786 pounds in the average household size (5-7), and to about 1678 pounds in the large size of the family (8 members and more). To study the relative importance of spender on different food groups in Egyptian rural and urban and to see the impact of the operation status head of the family on consumer spending per capita, the operation status head of the family are divided to 8 cases : Cash gainfully employed, ,business owner manages the work and used others working for him, business owner and no employee, working for family without paid, Loafer who has worked before, disabled never work, outside the labor force, outside the manpower. The average spending on food commodity groups in urban areas is estimated by about 2776 pounds per year. In the first group the average expenditure per capita was about 1964 pounds, which is less than the overall average of about 0.12%. In the second group the average expenditure per capita was about 2206 pounds annually which represent about 0.6% lesser than the overall average. In the third group with an average expenditure per capita where about 1911 pounds annually represents by lesser than about 0.14% of the overall average. Total an average expenditure per capita of household head who works for the family without pay cash was about 2341 pounds, which is higher than the overall average by about 4%. In the group of Loafers who has worked before the average expenditure per capita was about 1869 pounds annually whish represents about 0.16% leaser than the overall average. The average spending of the head of the family out of the total work force per capita was nearly 2769 pounds annually represent by less than about 0.3% of the overall average. In group of the head of the family outside the human power the average spending per capita was about 3214 pounds per year represents an increase of about 16 percent from a year average. The major food groups are divided, according to the flexibility of spending in 2012/2013 into two groups A set of essential commodities: The grain, bread, meat, fruit, vegetables, sugar and sugary foods, and other food products in Egyptian rural and urban aeries Semi-luxury group: The fish in the Egyptian rural and urban aeries, milk, cheese, eggs, fats, oils and non-alcoholic beverages in the countryside.
