Knowledge plays an important role in organizational development and performance improvement. The research is based on trying to answer the following two questions: Does the Ministry of Tourism have knowledge management mechanisms? What are obstacles that hinder the optimal application of knowledge management in the Ministry of Tourism?. The research aims at the following: - Highlighting awareness of the Ministry of Tourism's employees about the term knowledge management. - Assessment of the extent of availability of internal and external sources of knowledge in the Ministry of Tourism and the extent of reliance on implicit and explicit knowledge. - Assessment of the extent of application of knowledge management in the Ministry of Tourism. - Identifying obstacles of the knowledge management application in the Ministry of Tourism. The research was applied to the Ministry of Tourism and is based on the descriptive- survey approach. By designing the questionnaire, collecting and analyzing data and information, and then presenting the results. Where the questionnaire forms were distributed to a sample from the administrative body of the Ministry of Tourism during the period from April to August of 2019 to contribute to answer the research questions and achieve its objectives..
