Abstract

The challenges faced by doctors and nursing staff in hospitals are: high workload, irregular working hours, the need to empathize with people in distress, accountability in the face of ambiguity, conflicts within the team, the role of uncertainty and the race against time are the daily challenges they face (Bagheri, Zarei et al. 2012) (Tangirala and Ramanujam 2008) (Maruyama, Suzuki et al. 2016). In light of the above, the current study aims at clarifying the effect of organizational silence on job burnout among both doctors and nursing staff at Ain Shams University hospitals; and providing relevant solutions to change the level of organizational silence in order to reduce job burnout.
