-Abstract
The necropolis of Abydos is one of the richest necropolises of Ancient Egypt. Although plundered since antiquity, the necropolis of Abydos remains rich of its monuments. The excavations conducted by Auguste Mariette in the northern necropolis during the nineteenth century have uncovered a large number of steles dating from various periods. The necropolis of Abydos is the center of the cult of the god Osiris, god of the dead and afterlife. It was strewn with thousands of funerary steles of pilgrims and tombs of ardent believers desiring an eternity near him. Among these faithful is Nfr-Hb, an official in charge of the arable lands of the god Amon. Nfr-Hb owned a tomb from which A. Mariette extracted two steles that remained unstudied until now. One is kept in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo (CG 34.099), and the other was recently transferred to the Grand Egyptian Museum (CG 34.101). This research aims to shed light on the life and career of Nfr-Hb.
