The research aimed to determine the knowledge degree of rural youth about the concept of social responsibility, the degree to which they carry out social responsibility towards both the family and the local community, and to identify their opinion on the obstacles of their social responsibility towards both the family and the local community, and their proposals to overcome them. The research was conducted on 400 respondents from rural youth in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, and data were collected through a questionnaire during August and September 2020, and after data collection, it was discharged and statistically analyzed, numerical tables, percentages, frequencies, average degree, the Chi square, the simple correlation coefficient have been used, and the results show the following:
Almost three quarters of the respondents (73.5%) had a high knowledge of the concept of social responsibility. More than four-fifths of the respondents (83%) have a high level of social responsibility towards the family in general. More than half of the respondents (56%) have a high level of social responsibility towards the local community as a whole. The most important obstacles are: the deficiency in educating young people about social responsibility and the failure of educational institutions to play their role in training youth on social responsibility
