The aim of the research was to determine the degree of knowledge of the agricultural extension workers, the importance of their knowledge, the degree to which they instruct the breeders about methods of prevention and treatment of foot-and-mouth disease. The research was carried out on a comprehensive list of agricultural extension workers in Al-Gharbia Governorate, 170 agricultural supervisors, distributed among the eight governorate centers. Quantitative data processing, tabulation and analysis using frequency and frequency display, arithmetic mean, Pearson's simple correlation coefficient, and relative correlation coefficient (X²) using the Statistical Program of Social Sciences (SPSS). The most important results were as follows: About half of the respondents (47.6%) are in the age group 46 to 55 years old, the majority of whom are of rural origin (85.3%), 65.3% of them are university graduates, 52.9% (32.9%) worked in agricultural extension for a period of 1 to less than 8 years. The majority (71.8%) received training courses in the field of extension work, and 65% 3% of them received training courses in animal production, and nearly half (47.1%) did not receive training courses in the field of foot-and-mouth disease in particular.28.8% of the respondents are in the high and intermediate training needs category for the prevention of foot-and-mouth disease and 30.6% of the respondents are in the high and intermediate training needs category for the treatment of foot-and-mouth disease. In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between the academic qualification and the degree of the total training needs of the respondents in relation to methods of prevention and treatment of this disease.
