استهدف البحث الحالى تعرف فاعلية وحدة مقترحة في الأحياء قائمة على التکامل بين العلوم والتکنولوجيا والهندسة والرياضيات (STEM) في تنمية التحصيل الدراسي ومهارات الاستقصاء العلمي لدى طلاب الصف الأول الثانوي، ولتحقيق هذا الهدف تم إعداد کتاب الطالب ودليل المعلم للوحدة واختبار تحصيلي واختبار مهارات الاستقصاء العلمي، وتکونت مجموعة البحث من (80) طالبة بالصف الأول الثانوي قسمت إلى مجموعتين مجموعة ضابطة عددها (41) طالبة، ومجموعة تجريبية عددها (39) طالبة، وبتطبيق أدوات البحث قبليًا وبعديًا على مجموعة البحث، توصلت نتائج البحث إلى وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى دلالة (0.01) بين متوسطي درجات طالبات المجموعة الضابطة ودرجات طالبات المجموعة التجريبية في التطبيق البعدي للاختبار التحصيلي ککل وفي مستوياته الفرعية لصالح طالبات المجموعة التجريبية، ووجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى دلالة (0.01) بين متوسطي درجات طالبات المجموعة الضابطة ودرجات طالبات المجموعة التجريبية في التطبيق البعدي لاختبار مهارات الاستقصاء العلمي ککل وفي مهاراته الفرعية لصالح طالبات المجموعة التجريبية.
A Suggested Unit in Biology Based on The Integration Between Science, Technology, Engineering  and Mathematics (STEM) for Developing The First-Grade Secondary Stage Students' Achievement and Scientific Inquiry  Skills
Abstract
    The present research aimed at examining the effectiveness of a suggested unit in biology based on the integration between science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) for developing the first-grade secondary stage students' achievement and scientific inquiry skills. In order to achieve the study objective, a student's book , teacher's handbook, an achievement test and scientific inquiry skills scale have been developed. The sample consisted of 80 female students in the first-grade secondary stage. It has been  divided into two groups: Control (n = 41) and experimental (n =39). The study tools were  administered before and after experimentation of the suggested unit. The following findings have been reached:
1)    There are statistically significant differences at (0.01) between the scores means of the control group female students and those of the experimental group female students in the post-application of the achievement test, in favour of the experimental group.
2)    There are statistically significant differences at 0.01 between the scores means of the control group female students and those of the experimental group female students in the post-application of the scientific inquiry skills scale, in favour of the experimental group.
