أدت السياسة الأمنية دور مهماً وحيوياً في العلاقة بين معاوية t وإقليم العراق في الدولة الأموية من عام 40هـ-660م وحتى وفاة معاوية 60هـ - 680م.
 وقد تجسد ذلک الدور في صور متعددة منها على سبيل المثال:
السياسة الأمنيّة لمعاويةt في العراق، ثم
ملامح السياسة الأمنيّة في مواجهة العصيان و القبليّة، وسياسة أمراء العراق تجاه قوى المعارضة في العراق.
ولقد کان لهذه السياسة آثار ايجابية أسهمت في توطيد حکم الدولة الأموية في العراق، وآثار سلبية أسهمت في نهاية الدولة الأموية.
Abstract:       
The security policy played an important and vital role in the relationship between Muawiyah and the region of Iraq in the Umayyad state from the year 40 AH-660AD until the death of Muawiyah 60 AH - 680 AD.
This role has manifested itself in several forms, including:
The security policy of Muawiyah, in Iraq, then
Features of the security policy in the face of rebellion and tribalism, and the policy of the princes of Iraq towards the opposition forces in Iraq.
This had positive effects
that contributed to the consolidation of the rule of the Umayyad state in Iraq, and negative effects that contributed to the end of the Umayyad state.
