احتلت الأسرة مکانة مميزة وخاصة في الدين الإسلامي باعتبارها تمثل الرکن الأساسي في تکوين المجتمع الإسلامي الواعي، يلتزم کل فرد فيه بمهام مطلوبة للوصول إلى المستوى الذي أراده الإسلام لبناء الأسرة المتضامنة والمتکافلة والمتعاونة فيما بينها لحياة ملئية بالسعادة والتفاهم والاحترام المتبادل للارتقاء بالمجتمع الصالح والملتزم والمتعاون والهادف وفق نظم الدين الإسلامي، ومن أسباب اختيارنا لموضوع المستوى المعاشي للأسرة الأندلسية؛ لأنها تشکل جانبًا مهمًّا في حياة المجتمع، لنتعرف على عاداتها وتقاليدها وطبيعية العلاقات الاجتماعية من حيث أمور وشروط الزواج والطلاق وغيرها، ومن ثم أخذنا الحديث عن الأم ومکانتها الکبيرة عند المشارقة والأندلسيين، وأيضًا العلاقات الأسرية بين الأب والإخوان والزوجين ومکانة المرأة في المجتمع الأندلسي مستندين في بحثنا إلى الأبيات الشعرية التي تعدّ موردًا أساسيًّا ومنهلًا خصبًا للتعرف بکل ما يخص الأسرة الأندلسية ومستوى معيشتها اقتصاديًّا، وهل اختلفت هذه الأسرة عن الأسرة في المشرق؟ متخذين أمثلة للأسر الغنية کالحکام والأغنياء والفقيرة والمتوسطة وکيفية معيشتها وما هي الموارد الأساسية لعيشها.
