يعد فيليب حتى المؤرخ الأمريکي البارز من أصل لبناني. يعد صاحب دور بارز في دراسة تاريخ الحروب الصليبية. حيث أصدر عدة دراسات عن العلاقات بين الشرق والغرب في العصور الوسطى خلال تلک المرحلة المحورية. يسلط هذا البحث الضوء على رؤية فيليب حتى تجاه الحرب العالمية في العصور الوسطى وأعني بها الحروب الصليبية.   Abstract: Philip Hitti, the Outstanding American historian of Lebanese Origin, has a leading role in the Studying of the crusades He published several studies dealing with the relations between east and West during that vital epoch. This paper focuses on Philip Hitti's Viton towards the universal war in the middle ages which is mean the crusades.
