Abstract

Environmental friendly organic natural botanical extracts  (essential oils) of Lupine, Lupinus termis Forsk (Fabacea), Marjoram, Majorana hortansis L. (Lamiaceae), Anise, Pimpinella anisum (Umbelliferae), Orange oil. Citrus vulgaris (Rutaceae) and Olive oil, Olea europaea L (Oleaceae) were tested to evaluate their toxic effect on both laboratory and field strains of Aphis craccivora, Koch. The results showed that the field strain was more resistant to all compounds than that of the laboratory strain. On the other hand, the biochemical activity of the detoxification enzymes; MFO, alkaline Phosphatase, β and α-esterase was also investigated and showed fluctuated results according to the source of strain and compound used.
