Abstract

Two field experiments were conducted during 200012001 and 200112002
growing seasons at the Agricultural and Veterinary Training and Research Station,
King Faisal University. Results indicate thai the irrigation treatments significantly
3ffeded all e~fim~ted characters. except numbe. or brancneslplant. Irrigation canola
every 7 days with the rate of SOO mJlirrigatiOnlha or every 14 days with the rate of 650
m3/irrigationlha resulted in increasing plant height, stem diameter, number of
pods/plant. number of seeds/pod, seed oil percentage as well as seed and oil
yieldsJha. Water use efficiency reached the highest value with the irrigation of canota
plants every 14 days. Nitrogen rates had significant effeds on all estimated characters. The higher
nitrogen rates (150-200 kg Nlha) were associated with an increase in all estimated
characters, except seed oil percentage, which took the reverse trend. The interaction
between irrigation tntervats and nitrogen rates had significant effects on seed and oil
yieldslha. In general, it can be stated that Irrigation canota every 14 days and fertilizing
with 200 kg N /he produced the highest seed and oil yieldslha.
