Abstract

Some triazole fungicides as well as Sumisclex and Folicur as standard
fungicides showed significant effects on the linear grc'.'lfh and sclerotial formation o!
Sc
lerotium cepivotum Berk in vitro. The highest effect was obtained from Caramba ,
followed by Punch and Folicur while the lowest effect was observed from Premis . tn greenhouse, dipping garlic cloves in the preparation of any of the tested
triazole compound or the standard fungicides decreased S. cepivcxum infection and
increased bulb yield ( gm.l pot) compared to the control. Surni-B and Caramba at
'000 ppm galle the lowest infection compared with the other treatments. Under field conditions, the same fungicides which prelliously used in lab. and
greenhouse were tsted . These experiments were carried out in EI-Dakhlia and Sohag
governorates during 2001 12002 and 2002 12003. garlic grOWing seasons. Dipping
garlic cioves before planting in Sumi-S , Folicur and Rubigan galle the best control,
w)",ile Victra and Premis were the least in 2001 I 2002 and 2002 I 2003 seasons in
both Dakahlia and Sohag govemorates. Data obtained indicated that dipping garlic
cloves in the rate of 1000 ppm was more effective in reducing disease incidence.
Also, it galle significant increase in garlic yield «(onl fed. ) compared 10 un(realed .
Rubigan . Premis. Eminint and Punch galle the highest increase of garlic yield ( tonI
led. ) . A similar trend was observed in decreasing white rot disease when fungicides
were used as ( dipping •. spraying ) treatment in both seasons in Sohag
gOliernorate. The highest significant increase in garlic yield ( ton/fed. ) was observed
when Sumi-S was used. The treatment of dipping + spraying at 1000 ppm was more
efficient in decreasing white rot disease incidence and increasing total garlic yield (
ton/(ed. J than dipping treatment only.
