Abstract

The study tended to investigate the expansion potentials for production
of certain cut flowers widely demanded species in foreign markets. To
estimate the production economic efficiency for certain species both net
revenues and benefiUcost ratios were adopted. Results indicated the
superiority of chrysanthemum under fully-equipped green houses followed by
Gerbera under half-equipped houses. And since the half-equipe houses are
much less expensive, producing the kinds suitable for such houses, such as
Aster, Gerbera is preferable whenever finaniul resources are limited Gerbera
is also preferred as less environmental harmful, due to less intensive
fertilizers adoption. On the other hand, the study recommends seeking
foreign experience to solve the marketing problems which restrict the
potentials of Egyptian cut flowers exports in variant foreign markets.
