Through study of major maf1(ets of Egyptian onions exports and the prevalent
innuential factors, promotion potentials were investigated. The studY~Showed winter onions
as the principal onions exports of which the Arab Gulf Cooperati n bloc Imports shar~
almost 71.7% of total fresh onions exports, within which the Saudi m lf1(et shared 65% .
On the other hand , the EUC was the major Importer of dried onions 83.2%.
within which the German maf1(et ranked first.
The study also revealed the skip of advantages rendered by agreements signed wiln
most economic blocs . The most exports influential factors were ~th the Egyptian export
price and the world average unit value investigation rate of market penetration reveale:'
difficulty of exports promotion, Clue to conatant production increase in the importing
countries . However. chances may occur with early export periods avoiding competition of
both Dutch and Spanish exports.
Triats must be considered to explore new markets, besid maintaining stability of
exports to Asian, Common wealth and Comisla blocs through quality promotion meeting
specifications and s(andaro. Ht by those market, beside competitive price offering.
