Abstract

The main objective of the research was to identity primarily tacto s
related 10 reciprocal interpersonal visits between change agents and Fayourn
Governorate's rural women, who rejected adoption of chicken improved
stains and who attended a training program related to improved chicken
strains. The derived objectives were: (') to identify relationship between the
dependent variable, change agent's visits to rural women, and each of some
selected independent variables; (2) to identify relationship between the
dependent variable, rural women visits to change agents, and each of some
selected independent variables; (3) to determine factors explained variance Ip
the dependent variable, change agent's visits to rural women; (4) tb
determine 'factors explained variance in the dependent variable, rural wome
visits to change agents; (5) to determine significance difference between the
two averages of change agent's visits to rural women, and rural women visilTi
to change agents; and (6) to extract some suggestions thaI are thought 10 00
useful to pcllcv-cecislon makers. The- study data were collected during the period March-April, 2000,
as a part of a project financed partly by the Agricultural Research Center. A
sample encompassed 242 rural females in six villages of Fayou
Governorate (villages of EI-Agamien, Tubbhar, SinrolAbshway District; Taist, EI-Shikh Faddel, and EI
Hamidia EI-Gadidal Fayoum District) was used in the study. A pre-tested written questionnaire and inter-personal interviews were
used in collecting the study data. Factor analysis, zero-order correlation
coefficient, step-wise multiple regression, and Hest were used in analyzing
the collected study data The study findings emphasized the need to Increase and enrich rural
Women's information, throughout education, interpersonal visits between
them and change agents, effective use of mass communication, and
emphasis of rural women's perception to their losses brought about trom their
rejection to adoption of the concerned innovation. The study implications,
limitations, and suggestions were included.
