The Goal of this study was: first to recognize (distinguish) the social impact
on the rural woman's degree of benefits due to the implementation of the
developments fund loans to enhance development; second to identify the problems
facing the rural women beneficiaries of the development project; this to identify the
suggestions of the rural women beneficiaries to overcome obstructions hindering the
project.
The questionnaire was executed through may and June 2006 ¡n 16 villages in six
districts ¡n Fayoum governorate. Fayoum governorate was chosen because it has as
a governorate, the majority of projects targeting rural women. Fayoum governorate
with 8.27% of all projects is leading all other governorates.
The systematic random sample was chosen from the rural women who
obtained loans from the community development fund in the period from 1999-2003.
The total of the target group was 619 woman the sample chosen was 238
(38.4%). A pre tested questionnaire was setup to collect data, the systems tic random
sample was chosen ¡n cooperation with the district's authority. Frequencies,
percentages, and simple correlation coefficient were used in analyzing the study data.
The study results revealed: a significant relationships between the degree of rural
womans benefits from the project and the follwing social variables: family members
participation ¡n the project, change in the housing status, husbands participation ¡n the
project, decision making in the family of interviewed women, change ¡n medical care
practices, exposure to remote horizons; a negative relationship and the number of
unemployed family member5.
The complaints of these interviewed women stated that the most urging
prcblem facing them was: the poor quality of drinking water (86.1%); the lack of
transport facilities (71.9%); the marketing problems (22.1%). They also suggested
solutions to overcome these obstacles.
