Abstract

The objectives of this research were to determine knowledge degree of extension agents to the importance of extension methods , principles of using these methods, degree of using these methods , limitations of using these methods. barriers of using these methods and response degree of farmers to different extension methods i This research was conducted in Sohag and Qena governorates. Data were collected using 140 respondents as a random sample of extension agents using a prepared questionnaire. Absolute numbers, percentages, arithmetic mean, variance, standard deviation and simple correlation coefficient were used to analyze the data . Main findings were as follows: - Knowledge degree of extension agents towards the importance of extension methods in extension work was high . - Extension agents knew a lot of principles of using extension methods ~ The most extension methods used by extension agents were meetings, farm visits. bulletins, extension farms and demonstrations . — Decreasing using the following methods: office visits, listening and watching clubs, extension trips. personal communications and extension posters i - Many limitations of using these methods were found , - Many barriers of using these methods were such as decreasing of conwnunmanon nnnhods and Uansponauon,the responsufie peopm m extension were not serious, shortage of demonstration methods, insufficient of training programs and motives were not available , - There was significant relationship between academic qualification and degree of very extension methods by extension agents, but there was opposite relationship with age
