Sea bass. Oicentrarchus labrax, fingerlings (1.11 g) were stocked in 240 m³
cages (4 x 3x 2.5 m each, equal 30 rr,l) placed in West·Northem Shore I)f
Mediterranean, West Lagoon, Matrouh Governorate, Egypt. to assess the responses
of sea bass to rear in intensive (50 fiShlm~ or sernl-lntenslve moooculture (35.8
f1ahlm; or poIyeuliure with golden grey mullet. LiZB aurata, 0( sea bream. Sperus
aurala (715 sea bass+360 mullet or sea bream/cage, 30 m1. The fish were handly fed
on artificial diet (34.6 % protein) in wet form at a rate of 3-5% of the live body weight,
two Umes daily, in addition to 1 % trash fish one time daily, for 323 days. Growth,
survival, feed utilization and net produC1ion were depressed with increasing densit~.                 ,               Final weight recorded wele 172.29 g and 128.919 at a density 35.8 and 50 fish 1m ,
respectively. The best fish performance and economic were achieved in sea bass
-seml·intensive monoculture and polyculture with mullet. The total fish production were
varied between 4.77·5.40 Kglm' and the payback period between 0.74·1.01 years.
