A STUDY ON NILE TILAPIA BROODERS DURING WINTERING BY ADDING DIETARY FATS OR VITAMINS

Abstract

This study was carried out during 200412005 on Nile tilapia fish. Fats or vitamins were added to the brooders' diet. This work was evaluated via fish weight. egg production. economic efficiency, fish body composition and blood analysis. From the obtained results, it could be concluded that Nile tilapia brooders used in hatching could be fed before spawning season a diet contains 25% crude protein and supplemented with 5% of a mixture 1:1 of fish oil and sunflowers oil. This dietary treatment was the best concerning % laying brooders, fry production. profitability, economic efficiency and immunity (high WBCs and % lymphocytes).
