Phytochemical study of the leaves and stems of Clerodendron inerme L. resulted in the isolation of five flavonoidal compounds; apigenin, apigenin 7-0-glucoside, luteolin, luteolin-7-0-glucoside, kaempferol and one coumarin compound, scopoletin. The structures of isolated compounds have been established on the bases of, chromatographic and spectral studhes, In addition three triterpenoidal saponin compounds have been also isolated B-amyrin and oleanolic acid were found to be the agiveones of the isolated saponins. The percentage of the total saponins were found to be 2.62% in the leaves and 0.84% in the stems as determined by haemolytic index method.
