In this paper, my focus will be on the different attitudes of
the Holy Virgin Mary which appear in the decoration of several
Coptic artistic collections conserved and displayed now in the
Coptic Museum in Cairo and in the other international
archeological museums abroad. This study deals also with some of
the Mariological scenes decorating the interior walls of many
Coptic monasteries and churches in Old Cairo, Wadi Natrun, Sohag
and the Red Sea. Moreover, the present study will describe and
analyze some precious examples of Coptic stone work, woodwork,
metal objects, ivory panels, manuscripts, icons and wall paintings in
order to know more details about the various depictions of the Holy
Virgin Mary and her figures in Coptic art.
