Abstract

Abstract:
The main goal of the study is to investigate whether
aristocratic women were represented in Islamic art or not. The
study, therefore, aims to present a variety of scenes of aristocratic
women from the different parts of the eastern Islamic regions
ranging from the 8th to the 17th century. The scenes in which
aristocratic women were the main characters will be described then
analyzed in order to reveal the activities of aristocratic women in
such scenes, the frequency of the scenes and their date, their
materials and their meaning. In addition, the study aims to disclose
the fashions of clothes and headdresses of aristocratic women that
could be witnessed from the scenes.
