Abstract

The subject of this study is the funerary rite of sD deshrwt,
the rite of breaking of the red pots. Borchardt discussed some of
the scenes representing the rite in an article published in 19291
and some other scenes were later discussed by J. van Dijk2. In
spite of these and others who tried to explain it, the rite still
needs further investigation. The researcher will try to find
another interpretation for the meaning and symbolism of the rite.
