The researcher discusses the history of ancient ponds, ponds and terms used to refer to them such as ponds, cisterns, cisterns and factories. The word factories were mentioned in the Holy Quran. The researcher also studied the ponds and divided them into types. The study also explores models of aquatic ponds, especially the Aghlabid ponds in Kairouan, Tunisia, and how the Aghlabid rulers overcame the ponds on the water problem. The researcher also referred to the ponds on the pilgrimage route. Egyptian pilgrimage in the Sinai, and the pools trail Zubaydah, especially those deployed within the territory of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
       The research also shows the types of ponds and their architectural units such as the refinery, the estuary and the pond. The research also deals with the raw materials of the ponds from stone and plaster, as well as the way the ponds يتتاول البحث موضوع برک المياه الأثرية في المنطقة العربية، وهو موضوع لم تسلط عليه الأضواء بالدراسة المستقلة، لذلک قام الباحث بتناول تاريخ البرک الأثرية، ومعني البرک والمصطلحات التي وردت للدلالة عليها مثل البرک والصهاريج والمواجل والمصانع، وقد ورد لفظ المصانع في القرآن الکريم، وقد صنف الباحث أيضا البرک فقسمها إلي أنواع، کما يتعرض البحث دراسة نماذج من البرک المائية ويأتي علي رأسها برک الأغالبة بالقيروان في تونس وکيف تغلب حکام الأغالبة عن طريق البرک علي مشکلة المياه، وتطرق الباحث أيضا إلي البرک علي طريق الحج فتناول بعضا منها، وأهمها برک طريق الحج المصري في سيناء، وبرک درب زبيدة خاصة تلک المنتشرة داخل أراضي المملکة العربية السعودية.
       ويوضح البحث أيضا أنواع البرک والوحدات المعمارية المکونة لها مثل المصفاة والمصب وحيز البرکة، کما يتناول البحث المواد الخام المکونة للبرک من الحجر والجص، وکذلک طريقة عمل البرک وکيفية تغذيتها بالمياه، والنقش الوحيد المتوفر حتي الآن لإحدي البرک.
