Abstract:
Background: CT has become the standard of choice and worldwide the most commonly used imaging modality for the initial evaluation of acute pancreatitis and its sequelae.

AIM: The aim of this study is to asses the role of multidetector CT in diagnosis of acute pancreatitis according to Revised Atlanta C la classification of acute pancreatitis.
Patients and Methods: This study included 30 Patients with Previously known acute pancreatitis attacks, clinically suspected acute pancreatitis, laboratory results suggesting acute pancreatitis to do multidetector Ct.

Results: Our study confirms that contrast enhanced CT is a reliable and accurate technique to determine type of acute pancreatitis according to The Revised Atlanta classification.
Conclusion: Our data and in agreement with the previous studies has demonstrated that contrast enhanced CT is a reliable and accurate technique to determine type of acute pancreatitis according to The Revised Atlanta classification. and Treatment planning is based on severity of pancreatitis and presence or absence of infection combined with clinical signs. The revised Atlanta classification system with CT helps guide management and monitor the success of treatment
