Abstract According to human rights conventions, each state party to these conventions is obligated to submit to the committee established by the relevant convention an initial report within a year or two of its ratification of the convention, then periodic reports every specific period of time. The reporting system is considered one of the most important means used by the committees to identify the human rights situation in the State Parties. Countries face difficulties in preparing the reports required of them by the treaty bodies. Therefore, this study shows how to prepare reports at the national level in terms of the authority concerned with preparing reports and submitting reports to the committees in a specific form and appropriate content. The study also introduces the procedures for examining the reports of the states parties, as they examine the report, discuss it and conclude with the issuance of concluding observations and recommendations.
