Abstract

Recent advances in control technology provide the means for designing multimode control laws which achieve improved weapon delivery capability and reduced pilot workload. The control objectives for these advanced modes include the ability to command a chosen variable without experiencing significant motion in other, specified varables. Direct tilt Control (Dlr.) is characterized by flight path command without change in angle of attack. Two design methods are used to generate a direct lift control law for an advanced aircraft, fast-samplingerror-actuated digital controllers method and model following technique, (2) Simulation illustrates that fast-sampling error-actuated digital controllers offer several advantages over model following technique.
