Abstract T he aim of the current research is to identify the role of social work in confronting social stigma among families of the recovered from the emerging corona virus in its economic and social dimensions, by identifying the concept of social stigma, forms, effects, and labeling theory of  and its applications in the current research. The research used the descriptive-analytical method, and a questionnaire was administered to a sample (totaling 55) of families of the recovered in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Findings revealed a high degree of a set of social and economic effects of social stigma among families of the recovered. As well as participants' very high agreement on the proposed roles of social work to confront social stigma among families of the recovered. Findings also revealed statistically significant differences attributed to the variables of gender (male - female), academic qualification (university or higher - middle), and place of residence (urban - rural), in favor of males, and in favor of university education or higher.
