The urbanization of the countryside to urbanism witnessed a lot of urban areas and the suffering of the shortcomings and lack of urban services is no longer just an urban problem, but will become a dimensional complex phenomenon which has low social , economic and environmental characteristics .From this point came the idea of ​​the search: finding an approach to solve the problem of rapid urban transformation and its changes and negative effect  on the Egyptian city by adopting a strategy of " sustainable urban transformation" which guarantees urban transformation to the areas in a sustainable way that preserves the environment, and achieve the greatest benefit from the resources and achieve the level of good living for the residents. The research monitors and analyses the "sustainable transition" for one of the best sustainable urban cities in the world (Curitiba city in Brazil), which showed its ability to sustainable urban transition in a sustainable  way to ensure preservation of the environment and resources and without any negative effect on any of the social, environmental and economic aspects. Then conclude  some features and the factors that can be used to achieve a sustainable transition and then monitors the phenomenon (urban transformation ) and various of its changes in the physical structure of the case study (suburb of Heliopolis) and to identify the most important negatives afflicting the region in Egypt.
إن التحول الحضري من الريف إلى الحضرالذي تشهده الکثير من المناطق العمرانية وما يعانيه من قصور ونقص في الخدمات العمرانية لم يعد مشکلة حضرية فقط ، وإنما أصبح ظاهرة مرکبة الأبعاد تتدنى فيه الخصائص الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والبيئية.من هذا المنطلق جاءت فکرة البحث وهى إيجاد مدخل لحل مشکلة التحول العمراني السريع وتغيراته السلبية وتأثيرها على المدينة المصرية  من خلال تبنى إستراتيجية "التحول العمراني المســـــتدام" الذي يضمن للمناطق العمرانية التحول إلى الحضر بطريقة تحافظ على البيئة ، وتحقق أکبر قدر من الاستفادة من المــــوارد وتحقق مســتوى معيشي جيد للسکان. ويتناول البحث رصد "التحول العمرانى المستدام" لواحدة من أفضل المدن العمرانية المستدامة على مستوى العالم (مدينة کيوريتيبا في البرازيل )التي أظهرت قدرتها على التحول الحضري المستدام بطريقة تضمن الحفاظ على البيئة والموارد و بدون أي تأثير سلبي على أي من النواحي الاجتماعية والبيئية والاقتصادية.ثم استنتاج بعض الضوابط والأسس والعوامل التي يمکن الاستفادة منها لتحقيق تحولا عمرانيا مستداما. وتطبيق تلک العوامل على منطقة الدراسة (ضاحية مصر الجديدة) – هليوبوليس- ورصـد وتحليل ظاهـــــرة (التحول العمراني ) وتغيراته المختلفة في الهيکل العمراني للمنطقة والتعرف على أهم السلبيات التي تعانى منها المنطقة .
