Abstract

Kinetic architecture  used technological advances  in the centre of architectural field to establish itself in the built environment.  Although, there are large number of  researchers and realized projects and various issues have been presented  related to the incorporating of kinetic architecture in conventional building design, there are many problems have to be solved over the past years. Responsive architecture and computational design have collaborated to form a strategy to design   Kinetic architecture  through material technology aiming in low energy consumption designs that fulfill their purpose more efficientlyThis technology employs specific group of  smart materials present kinetic properties  that  resulted from external effects. These materials are different from the other ones as they can move without any motors or mechanical parts. They also adapt with the environmental conditions to organize the indoor climate of the building all the day. These materials can be used in Kinetic architecture  to reduce the cost and it can also be used in the developing countries. A number of  projects  will be analyzed that respond to environmental data gathered from their immediate environment or human interaction, and form systems that aim to produce a sustainable architecture.
