تعاظم الاهتمام بالحوکمة في العديد من الاقتصاديات المتقدمة والنامية خلال السنوات الأخيـرة، وخاصة في أعقاب الانهيارات الاقتصادية والأزمات المالية التي شهدتها العديد من دول العالم، حيث إنّ التطبيق الخاطئ لمبادئ وآليات حوکمة الشرکات کان سبباً رئيسياً في حدوث الأزمة المالية العالمية، کما تعاظمت أهمية الشرکات التجارية في وقتنا الحاضر حتى صارت مؤسسات اقتصادية ذات تأثيـر فعّال على الاقتصاد الوطني، وواحدة من أهم الوسائل العالمية لتحقيق الثـروات والرفاهية في البلاد، کما أنّ حوکمة الشرکات لها بالغ الأثـر على الأفراد والمؤسسات والمجتمع ککل، حيثُ أنّه إذا صلحت الشرکة کنواه صلح الاقتصاد ککل، وإذا فسدت فإن تأثيـرها يمتد ليضر أعداداً کبيـرة من فئات الاقتصاد والمجتمع، وهونموذج إداري مؤسسي متطور يحمل بيـن طياته معاييـر دقيقة بأن أفضل الممارسات التي تهيئ الفرص الکبيـرة لتحقيق مستويات عاليه من الأداء والمساءلة، حيثُ يُؤدى اعتماد المبادئ السليمة لحوکمة الشرکات إلى مکافحة الفساد وسوء الإدارة، و تعزيـز الشفافية في الحياة الاقتصادية.
وقد قام الباحثان بدراسة دور حوکمة الشرکات على التنمية الاقتصادية في الصيـن ومصر کدراسة مقارنة، وذلک من خلال نموذج قياسي يتضمن استخدام المتغيـر الصوري للصيـن ومصر معاً من أجل زيادة کفاءة النتائج، حيثُ تبيـن وجود أثـر إيجابي لبعض مُؤشرات الحوکمة على التنمية الاقتصادية في کل من الصيـن ومصر، وهى مؤشر السيطرة على الفساد، وسيادة القانون، جودة التشريعات وفعالية الحکومة في الصيـن، بينما کانت المؤشرات الإيجابية في مصر على التـرتيب هي سيادة القانون، جودة التشريعات، فعالية الحکومة، ثمّ الاستقرار السياسي والسيطرة على الفساد.

The researchers studied the impact of corporate governance on economic development in China and Egypt as a comparative study, through a standard model that includes the use of the image variable of China and Egypt together for Increasing the efficiency of the results, as it was found that there was a positive impact of some of the indicators of governance on economic development in both China and Egypt, an indicator of corruption control, the rule of law, the quality of legislation and the effectiveness of the government in China, while the positive indicators in Egypt, respectively, were the rule of Noon, quality legislation, government effectiveness, then political stability and corruption control.
