Abstract
The present study was carried out to determine the efficacy of the entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) Steinernema carpocapsae strain All and Heterorhabditis bacteriophora strain HP88 upon the tomato leafminer Tuta absoluta and the potato tuber moth Phthorimaea operculella. Using different concentrations of the entomopathogenic nematodes against third and fourth larval instars and pupae at both T. absoluta and P. operculella revealed a highest susceptibility (highest mortality rate and lowest LC50) in the third instar larvae. Meanwhile pupal stage showed the highest resistance. On comparing the susceptibility of the tested insects towards the two entomopathogenic nematodes, it was clear that T. absoluta was more susceptibility than P. operculella in the three tested stages.
