Abstract

The present taxonomic revision of the family Malachidae (Genera: Attalus, attalusinus, brachyattalus, Callotroglops, Cephalonicus, Clanoptilus, Ebaeus andHypebaeinais
basedmainly on the materials, represented in the main reference insect
collections in Egypt and/or materials collected during the field survey.
Diagnostic characters of the genera and species based on the external
morphological characters of the adults. Synonyms, taxonomical notes, local and
world distribution of each species are provided.
