ملخص يتناول هذا البحث صورًا من دور الأزهر الاجتماعي في إفريقيا، ويبرز جانبًا مهمًا يتمثل في دوره الإنساني، وعدم اقتصاره على الجانب الدعوي، وذلک من خلال جهوده في التصدي للفرق الضالة التي تدعي انتسابها إلى الإسلام کالقاديانية، وکذلک التصدي للفتاوى الشاذة والآراء الغريبة التي تهدد المجتمعات الإفريقية، وعلى رأسها فتاوى تحريم التطعيم ضد مرض شلل الأطفال، تلک الفتوى التي کان لها نتائج کارثية على عدد من الدول الإفريقية والإسلامية، حيث أعلن الأزهر ومؤسساته رفضه لها، وفنَّد أدلة القائلين بها، وبيَّن ما تنطوي عليه من مخاطر وأضرار على الأفراد والمجتمعات تتناقض مع مبادئ الإسلام التي تقوم على حفظ الإنسان ورعايته وسلامته، واقترن ذلک بالناحية العملية وإسهام فعال في القضاء على المرض بالتعاون مع المؤسسات الدولية والإسلامية ذات العلاقة، کما يبرز موقف الأزهر من قضايا خطف الأطفال في إفريقيا، وکذلک جهوده في دعم الدول الإفريقية طبيًا وإغاثيا عن طريق القوافل التي أرسلت إلى عدد من المناطق المنکوبة، والتي قدمت خدماتها للجميع دون تمييز لجنس أو دين. ويبرز البحث أيضًا دور الأزهر في تحقيق السلم الاجتماعي في إفريقيا، والعمل على رأب الصدع في المجتمعات الإفريقية، وذلک بالإصلاح بين الطوائف الإسلامية المتصارعة، وکذلک الإصلاح بين المسلمين وغيرهم، ويعد موقف الأزهر في أوغندا وإفريقيا الوسطى نماذج رائدة تبرز مکانة الأزهر في إفريقيا وإدراک القائمين عليه لمکانته ورسالته الدينية والإنسانية العالمية. summary  This research deals with some aspects of the social role of Al-Azhar in Africa and this research highlights an important aspect of Al-Azhar which is represented in its human role and not limited to the side of spreading the Islamic religion and its teachings and this appears through his efforts to address extremist groups that pretend to belong to Islam such as the Qadianis and also to address abnormal and strange opinions that threatens African societies.  On top of these different opinions is the view of (fatwa) prohibiting vaccination against polio. This opinion has had catastrophic consequences for a number of African and Islamic countries. Al-Azhar and its institution announced its rejection of these views and refuted the views of those who say it and between the risks and harms it entails for individuals and societies that contradict the principles of Islam that are based on human safety and care. This was demonstrated in practice by cooperating with international and Islamic institutions to end this problem  The role of Al-Azhar also highlights many issues such as the issue of child abduction in Africa and Al-Azhar has made great efforts in supporting the African countries in the field of medicine and treatment, as it sent several convoys to a number of affected areas, and these convoys provided their services to all without distinction of sex or religion.  The research also highlights the role of Al-Azhar in achieving social peace in Africa and working to unite African societies and end conflicts through harmony between conflicting Islamic sects and harmony between Muslims and others.  The role of Al-Azhar in Uganda and Central Africa is a pioneering model that highlights the position of Al-Azhar in Africa and the awareness of those responsible for its religious and universal human status.
