Abstract

The idiginous taxa of Malvaceae represented in the flora of Egypt were systematically revised. This revealed the
presence of 26 species belonging to 11 genera and four tribes; among these, Malvella sherardiana ia a new
record to the flora of this country.
For each species, valid name, synonymes (if any), type, distribution (local and global) and selected
specimens are given. A key for the genera of the family, and keys for the species belonging to the genera with
more than one species are provided
