Abstract

Bombacoxylon owenii (Carr.) Gottwald (Bombacaceae), was widespread in Egypt in ages ranging from Oligocene
to Quaternary. This is the first record of this species from Gebel Shabraweet. Comments on the distribution of all
species of Bombacoxylon in the world are given.
