هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى الوقوف على قانون السهولة والتيسير(الجهد الأقل) عند سيبويه، من حيث المفهوم، والمنهج، والضوابط التي ارتکز عليها سيبويه في تطبيق هذا القانون على کثير من الظواهر اللغوية في العربية، وسعت هذه الدراسة إلى إثبات أنَّ نحاة العربيّة القدماء ويمثلهم سيبويه، کانوا سبّاقين إلى هذا القانون تطبيقًا لا تنظيرًا، عل نحوٍ لا نجد له نظيرًا في زمانهم، وأن تصوَّرهم لهذا القانون لم يکن تصورا محدودا کما يقول بعض الباحثين المحدثين، ولم يقتصر على إشارات قصيرة وغامضة، بل تجاوز ذلک إلى کل ما يعنيه هذا القانون في نظرية الاقتصاد اللغوي، على مستوى التشکيل الصوتي والصرفي، والترکيب النحوي.  This study aims at identifying the law of ease and facilitation (the low of least effort) for Sibawayh, In terms of concept, methodology and rules that Sibawayh relies upon in applying this law to many linguistic phenomena in Arabic. This study seeks for proving that the ancient Arab grammarians, represented by Sibawayh, are pioneers in applying this law, not only on the theoretical level but also practically, in a way that they have no emulator at their time. Also, their perception of this law is not a limited kind of perception, as some modern researchers say. Moreover, ancient Arab grammarians' perception is not reduced to be a short and ambiguous indications, but it goes beyond that to all what this law means in pertaining to the theory of Linguistic economy, at the phonemic, morphological formation and grammatical structure levels.
