اختص الله تعالى هذه الأمة الإسلامية بکثير من المزايا والخصائص التي لم يهبها لأمة سواها، فمنَّ عليها بخاتم الأنبياء والمرسلين محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، واختصها بحمل الرسالة الخالدة التي هي رحمة للعالمين، وجعل کتابها القرآن معجزة خالدة إلى يوم الدين، وحفظه دون غيره من التحريف والتبديل، ولعل من أعظم السمات التي اختص الله تعالى بها الشريعة الإسلامية، وميزها عن غيرها من الشرائع السابقة "اليسر ورفع الحرج"، والحقيقة أن اليسر والترخيص وانتفاء الحرج سمة أساسية في الإسلام، والتيسير مقصد عظيم من مقاصد الشريعة الإسلامية، وقد تضافرت أدلة الکتاب والسنة على هذا الأمر، فالصلاة - التي هي أکبر أرکان الإسلام بعد الشهادتين- تجب في الحَضَر أربعًا وفي السفر تُقْصَر إلى ثِنْتَين.... وتُصَلى رجالا ورکبانا، مستقبلي القبلة وغير مستقبليها...وکذا في النافلة في السفر إلى القبلة وغيرها، والقيام فيها يسقط بعذر المرض، فيصليها المريض جالسا، فإن لم يستطع فعلى جنبه، إلى غير ذلک من الرخص والتخفيفات، في سائر الفرائض والواجبات".
Allah the Almighty devotes to this Islamic nation many of the advantages and characteristics that He did not give to another nation. As the prophet and messenger Muhammad، all blessings and peace of Allah be upon Him، has been granted to this nation and carried the immortal message، that is the mercy of the worlds، and made its glorious Book، the Qur'an، an eternal miracle until the Day of Judgment، and preserved it from any distortion or replacement. One of the greatest attributes that Allah the Almighty has devoted to Islamic law and distinguished it from other previous laws is "ease and lifting embarrassment". The fact that facilitation، permission، and the absence of embarrassment are essential features in Islam. Accordingly، Facilitation is a great purpose of Islamic law which has been proved by many evidences in Qur'an and Sunnah. Similarly، prayer which is the largest pillar of Islam after uttering the shahadateen- must be performed four kneels in urban areas and be shortened to two while traveling، for walkers or riders، directing to Qiblah or not، as well as in the extra prayer، naafilah، in traveling to be directed to the Qiblah or not. In addition، the prayer could be skipped in case of sickness، so the patient prays in sitting position if he cannot stand، or on his side if he cannot sit، in addition to other permissions and mitigations in all other rituals and duties.
