إن موضوع المقاصة من الأمور الهامة في وقتنا الحاضر، والتي ينبغي على الفرد أن يکون على علم واطلاع ودراية بحيثياتها ومضمونها، وفهم شروطها، ومعرفة الآثار المترتبة عليها، فهي تعتبر من المواضيع المهمة في القانون المدني، فلا يکاد يمر يوم إلا ويجري فيه أحد صور المقاصة. ولقد ارتأيت الکتابة في هذا الموضوع " المقاصة في القانون المدني الأردني وأهم تطبيقاتها في القانون التجاري" نظرا لأهميته في وقتنا الحالي، ولتعريف القارئ بالأمور والشروط التي تتعلق بالمقاصة، والطرق التي يمکن معها إجراء المقاصة في حالة اختل أحد شروطها، وبالتالي معرفة الآثار المترتبة عليها، وخاصة ما استجد علينا اليوم بما يعرف بالمقاصة الالکترونية بالبنوک يأخذ کمثل هذه الکيفية،فکان لابد من تأصيلها ومعرفة حکم الشرع بها، کل ذلک حقيقة دفعني إلى الکتابة في هذا الموضوع على الرغم من تطرق البعض من علماء القانون إلى الکتابة فيه.
