Response of Early Sweet Grapevines to Foliar Application of Algae Extract and some Micronutrients

Abstract

This research  was done during the two consecutive seasons 2020 and 2021 on Early sweet grapevines grown in sandy soil to investigate the impact of spraying Algae extract at 0.05 to 0.2% and some micronutrients (Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu) at 0.025 to 0.1% on vegetative growth characteristics, nutritional status, yield and quality of Early sweet grapes. Supplying the vines with micronutrients and Algae extract three times during season was accompanied with enhancing growth, yield and fruit quality compared with the control treatment. Spraying Early sweet grapevines grown under sandy soil three times at the beginning of growth (first week of March), just after berry setting (first week of April) and after three week (last week of April) with a mixture of Micromix (containing 6% Fe, 3% Zn, 3% Mn and 1.5 % Cu in chelated) at 0.05% and Algae extract at 0.1% was suggested for obtaining an economical yield and improving physical and chemical characteristics of the berries
