تقدّم هذه الدراسة تفسيراتٍ لظاهرة تُمثّل خِلاف الأصلِ في العربية، وهي (ظاهرة الإبقاء على الثِّقَل واللجوء إليه في الأبنية والصيغ)، دون أن يُسلَک فيها مسلکٌ تخفيفيّ؛ بإعلال، أو إبدال، أو إدغام، أو نحو ذلک.
وتهدف الدراسة في هذا السياق إلى فهْم السلوک اللغوي الذي يَميل في عمومه إلى التخلُّص من الثقل في أبنيته، ثم يتَّجه في مواضع إلى الإبقاء على الثقل، وقد يستدعيه في بعض الحالات.
وقد سلکتْ في سبيل الوصول إلى الهدف المذکور المنهج التحليليّ التفسيريّ؛ فبدأتْ بجمْع حالات هذه الظاهرة، ثم تحليلها، وتصنيفها وتفسيرها.
ومن أهمّ النتائج التي تنتهي إليها الدراسة أن العربية لا تلتزم التخلُّص من الثقل على طول الخطّ؛ بل إنها قد تستبقيه في بعض الحالات، وربما تلجأ إليه في حالات أخرى، وأن للعربية أسبابًا أو دواعي للإبقاء على الثقل في الصيغ الصرفية أو اللجوء إليه، وأن اللجوء إلى الثقل في الصيغ العربية يرِد على ثلاثة مستويات؛ إذ يرِد على مستوى الحرکة، ومستوى الحرف، ومستوى البنية الصرفية.

Abstract
This paper provides an explanation for a phenomenon opposite to a common phenomenon in Arabic It deals with the phenomenon of preserving and recourse to heaviness of forms which is opposite to the phenomenon of eliminating the heaviness through diffenet phonological chanes.
In this context, the study aims at understanding the linguistic behavior, which tends in general to get rid of heaviness, then tends to keep it, and may require it in some cases.
In order to reach the aforementioned objective, it takes the interpretive analytical approach. It starts with gathering the different cases of the phenomenon. Then, it analyzes, classifies and interprets these cases.
based on procedures: induction, analysis, and interpretation, to conclude with a systematic classification of the causes of that phenomenon.
What the study concludes is that Arabic is not committed to getting rid of heaviness, rather it may retain it in some cases, and perhaps may require it in some other cases, and that Arabic has reasons for retaining heaviness in morphological forms or recourse to them. And that keeping the heaviness in Arabia appears on three levels: It is presented at the vowel level, the segment level, and the morphological form level.
