Abstract

Methyl jasmonate (MeJA) and silver nanoparticles (SNPs) are one of the elicitors that can induce the production of secondary metabolites of Catharanthus roseus L., the two of which incite defense responses.
Methyl jasmonate (MeJA) treatments with different concentrations (0, 10, 50, and 100 µM) were used to enhance high yielding of alkaloid content in Catharanthus. roseus. The content of vincristine and vinblastine in the callus of Catharanthus. roseus were determined by HPLC.
High content of vinblastine was seen in those explants treated with 75 mg/L SNPs (1.4 µg/g Fresh Weight). The most estimation amount of vinblastine and vincristine were seen in plants treated with 50µM MeJA (1.23 and 0.9 µg/g FW).
